About Cheryl Fisher

Cheryl is a dual-certified family and psychiatric nurse practitioner with over two decades of experience working with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, and the often invisible weight of mental health struggles.

Throughout her career, she has worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings, supporting patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. Her work has given her a deep understanding of what it means to live with challenges that are not always visible but are deeply felt.

More than anything, Cheryl believes that healing begins with being seen, understood, and supported without judgment.

Why I Write

Cheryl’s writing is rooted in a simple but powerful truth: many people are surviving, but very few feel like they are truly living.

Through her work, she explores the emotional weight carried by those who are often seen as “the strong one.” The ones others rely on, even when they themselves feel overwhelmed.

Her writing focuses on invisible struggles, emotional resilience, boundaries, and the journey toward healing. She is especially passionate about helping readers understand that their experiences are valid, even when they are not outwardly visible to others.

Her goal is to create work that not only informs, but also helps people feel less alone.

Beyond the Credentials

While her professional experience has shaped her understanding of mental health, Cheryl’s perspective is also deeply human.

She understands what it means to carry responsibility, to push through difficult seasons, and to continue showing up even when it’s hard. This balance of clinical knowledge and real-life insight allows her to connect with readers in a way that is both grounded and compassionate.

When she’s not writing or working with patients, Cheryl is focused on continuing her education and expanding her ability to support others. Not just in clinical settings, but through words that reach beyond them.
